Operating a drip irrigation pipe machine requires understanding both the mechanical and electronic aspects of the system. While exact steps depend on the model and manufacturer, here is a general guide to operating a drip irrigation pipe production machine safely and effectively:
Pre-Operation Checklist
Read the User Manual: Always start with the machine's user manual.
Inspect the Machine: Check for any visible damage or loose parts.
Materials Ready:
Raw material (usually HDPE or LDPE granules).
Dripper inserts (if using inline drippers).
Power and Air Supply:
Ensure stable electric connection.
Compressed air source (if pneumatic systems are used).
Startup Procedure
Power On:
Turn on the main switch.
Start the control panel interface (often a touchscreen HMI).
Load Material:
Fill the hopper with plastic granules.
Ensure dryer and hopper are working (to remove moisture from plastic).
Extruder Setup:
Set temperature zones (e.g., 160–220°C depending on material).
Wait for the barrel to reach the target temperature.
Dripper Insertion (if inline):
Load drippers into the dripper loader.
Calibrate the insertion system (timing and spacing).
Die Head & Calibration Tank:
Mount the correct pipe die for desired diameter.
Ensure the vacuum tank is filled and pumps are functioning.
Start Extrusion:
Slowly start the extruder screw rotation.
Monitor pipe formation at the die head.
Cooling and Sizing:
Pipe passes through vacuum calibration tank and cooling tanks.
Vacuum helps shape and size the pipe accurately.
Punching System (for outlet holes):
Adjust the hole punching unit for timing and spacing.
Check for proper alignment with inline drippers.
Haul-Off Unit:
Start the caterpillar or belt-type haul-off system.
Synchronize with extrusion speed.
Winder:
Ensure winder is ready to collect the pipe in coils.
Set coil size (length or weight) on control system.
Monitoring During Operation
Monitor pressure and temperature of the extruder.
Check pipe diameter and wall thickness using calipers.
Ensure dripper spacing and hole punching are correct.
Watch for blockages or abnormal noises.
Shutdown Procedure
Stop the winder and haul-off.
Reduce extruder screw speed to zero.
Turn off heaters.
Clean the die head and remove material residues.
Power off the machine safely.
Safety Tips
Wear PPE: gloves, eye protection, etc.
Do not touch hot parts.
Never bypass interlocks or safety switches.
Perform regular maintenance and cleaning.
